Background

This Australian company had 30 years’ experience in logistics and development of logistics software, and an established reputation for superior functionality and service. The company had:

  • over 500 sites in Australia and Asia using its products
  • established sales, marketing, customer service and technical support teams

In previous projects we had:

  • Surveyed its customers and prospects to understand their decision drivers
  • Re-positioned the company to focus on the unique capabilities uncovered
  • Created a new tagline and market position
  • Revised its sales process
  • Re-written its sales tools, including corporate profile, corporate presentation, technical sales proposal, all brochures and any quarterly emailers.

Challenge

To create and submit an application for the 2007 Logistics Magazine Mercury Awards in the Technology category; to combine material from our client and a partner over a 5 year project; to complete and submit in less than 5 days.

Solution

  • Conferred with the industry organisation to understand the requirements of the application,  inclusions and exclusions, relationship between our client, its customer and the allowable project parameters
  • Interviewed our client’s personnel and those of the customer to collect the project details
  • Researched the customer’s background for other relevant details
  • Collated information into a first draft and disseminated for feedback
  • Managed feedback and input from 3 contributors over 2 days
  • Packaged the final draft in suitable form and submitted it by email on behalf of our client.

Result

  • The application was completed and submitted on time
  • Our client gained adequate material to create additional case studies and testimonials
  • Our client won the award.
