Antivirus software distributor
Project 2 - Market representation
Background
The company was the sole Australian distributor for innovative and highly awarded European PC security software. The company had been distributing the software for over 5 years and had:
- a sizable business based on 800 small resellers
- customers who were mainly small businesses or single users
- international recognition within the technical IT community
- limited profile in the Australian business community.
In a previous project we had:
- researched and written its Australian brochures and case studies
- qualified various resellers, partners and prospective customers
- gained exposure in 4 key IT media.
Our client now sought exposure at the IT media forum, Influence Forum 2008, yet was unable to attend or to secure a representative from HO in Europe.
Challenge
To prepare for and represent the company at the 3 day forum, in one week.
Solution
We:
- collected raw presentation from our client, from its HO (Europe ) and its PR agency (US)
- wrote the company’s presentation and managed edits and approvals
- attended the 3 day event in the Hunter Valley on behalf of our client
- presented the material and answered questions in public forums
- demonstrated the product to journalists in private sessions.
Results
In 1 week our client had gained:
- a presentation able to be used in future promotional events
- credible representation at a high profile event
- introduction to all the key media journalists
- commitment by 3 journalists to review the software
- exposure in 4 key IT media.
Feedback
“Good stuff! Looks like I didn't waste my money after all.”
