Background

This innovative company distributes sales, merchandising, point-of-sale and promotional material on behalf of major clients like Lion-Nathan, Sony, Unilever and Subaru. Its 3PL services enable these companies to focus on promotions and merchandising campaigns e.g. Lion-Nathan’s XXXX Beach Cricket series - without having to worry about the intricate logistics that are required to support them.

The company had recently collaborated with Advanta, a leading vendor of logistics software to develop a solution that dramatically streamlined and enhanced its 3PL services to customers. As result, our client sought to highlight the combined achievements by applying for an award for Excellence in Innovation from the NSW Chamber of Commerce.

Challenge

To research, write, manage edits and submit the award application within 10 days.

Solution

We:

• Conferred with the NSW Chamber to define requirements and eligibility criteria
• Interviewed personnel from our client’s organisation and the software vendor
• Researched the solution, company background, the technology and market application
• Wrote a summary to confirm the technical features and business benefits  
• Re-positioned the material to answer 4 specific questions, briefly and succinctly, each in no more than 250 words.
• Managed multiple edits and final approvals between our client and the software vendor
• Packaged the final draft in the specific format required by the NSW Chamber

Result

Our client won the 2008 NSW Business Chamber Award for Excellence in Innovation.
